Penn State Institute for Real Estate Studies Awards Scholarship
Penn State’s Institute for Real Estate Studies (IRES) awarded its 2015 Advisory Board Scholarship to Henry Fox and Livia Baltrus, both majors in Risk Management with a Real Estate Option.
The $1,000 scholarship, created in recognition of the generous support provided by the Advisory Board, is granted by the Real Estate faculty to undergraduates with an outstanding academic record and an interest in real estate careers. To commemorate their achievement, the students’ names will be inscribed on a plaque in the Institute for Real Estate Studies office.
Fox, a May 2015 Penn State, was President of the Penn State Real Estate Association and a consumer staples member in the Penn State Investment Association. He has interned with the U.S. Research, Valuation, & Advisory Division of Altus Group, as a financial analyst for Chelsea Hotels, and as a FactSet analyst for the Penn State Trading Room.
Baltrus, Penn State Class of 2016, is interested in working in the commercial real estate industry, ideally focusing on property management, investment sales, or asset management. After graduation, she plans to study real estate law and hopes to travel abroad to create a working knowledge of global real estate markets.
The Institute for Real Estate Studies Advisory Board has 32 members, representing a broad spectrum of real estate careers in such specialties as corporate real estate management, real estate brokerage, appraisal, risk management, mortgage lending and banking, development, and governmental service.
