Andrew Hansz Joins IRES
Professor Brent Ambrose recently appointed J. Andrew “Andy” Hansz as an Assistant Director for the Institute of Real Estate Studies.
Hansz (Ph.D., CFA, MAI) is a Visiting Professor of Real Estate in the Department of Risk Management at Penn State. He is the founding director, in 2009, of the Gazarian Real Estate Center at the California State University, Fresno, where he is also a professor in the Department of Finance and Business Law. He was previously an associate professor and graduate advisor in the Department of Finance and Real Estate at the University of Texas, Arlington. He earned his B.S. Degree in Accounting and his M.S. Degree both from Penn State.
He regularly publishes original research, and his articles have appeared in the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Journal of Property Research, Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Research, and several others. With Julian Diaz, III, he co-authored the textbook Real Estate Analysis:Environments and Activities. He is on theJournal of Real Estate Literature editorial board and the North American editor of the International Journal of Strategic Property Management.
Dr. Hansz has taught more than 15 different courses in finance and real estate at the university level and numerous classes and seminars for the Appraisal Institute and other professional and business organizations. He is active professionally with industry affiliations in the American Real Estate Society, Appraisal Institute, CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute, and Urban Land Institute.
